Operations Manager - Ride Operations

Morey's Piers is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Operations Manager - Ride Operations. This individual facilitates the daily operation of our amusement facilities. A thorough knowledge of regulations, standards, and industry best practices is a must. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing, or assisting in the development of hiring, training, recognition, policy, and other programs; driving continuous improvement by utilizing audit results, industry best practices, and knowledge gained through training and experience; tending to, investigating, and reporting on incidents that occur during operation; and performing as Manager on Duty role.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualities:

  • Thorough knowledge of ride operations procedures, safety, and ride systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant ASTM and OSHA Standards.
  • Experience with ride evacuation and incident management.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Skilled in writing in a clear, accurate fashion that is materially free of errors or omissions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, consensus standards, and government regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office, and able to become proficient in other software applications as needed.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours at a time.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and catwalks up to 100 feet high to facilitate ride evacuations.
  • Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions (rain, wind, cold temperatures, direct sunlight, high heat, and humidity).

Additional preferred competencies include:

  • iROC Instructor Certification.
  • Current IAAPA Certification.
  • Current AIMS/NAARSO Operations or Maintenance Certification.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of training development and facilitation.
  • Proven ability to develop and facilitate dynamic, mixed-media training sessions in both small and large group settings.
  • Knowledge of budgetary practices and controls.

This is a full time, benefitted role in Wildwood, NJ offering a competitive benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other perks. Individuals must be able to work a schedule averaging 55 hours per week during our operating season. This may include days, nights, holidays, and weekends but off-season flexibility and a generous time off program helps to balance peak season requirements.
