Inventory & Logistics Internship

Morey’s Piers, the region’s leader in tourism and hospitality, is seeking an Inventory and Logistics Intern to support the day-to-day operations of our storage room for the upcoming season.

The intern will be assigned to the storage room specialist and assist with duties such as shipping & receiving, cycle counting, and parts kitting. Attention to detail in issuing, receiving, and organizing our amusement equipment spare parts will be essential to success in this position. This internship provides an opportunity to learn inventory management, obsolescence management, controlled parts exchange, parts identification, for our rides, games, water parks, and support equipment. 

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels.
  • Ship and receive packages from DHL, UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.
  • Assist with receiving including forklift operations and purchase order management.
  • Stock shelves and cabinets and assist employees looking for items to scan out.
  • Responsible for keeping parts room neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Assist with purchasing as required.
  • Handle all packages for J-1 students and check employee IDs.
  • Complete delivery and pickup for urgent materials as required.
  • Able to work in Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Perfom daily inventory counts (cycle counts).
     

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • 2+ years of experience in an inventory role or currently enrolled and pursuing a BA/BS degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management, or a related field and have completed 30 semeter hours prior to the start of the internship.
  • Strong math skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to resolve errors and other reconciliation responsibilities.
  • Previous experience in inventory, shipping, or receivng, is helpful.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Experience using a forklift, pallet jacks, and shipping materials is a plus.
  • Able to work a 40-48 hour week as required.
  • Able to work holidays and weekends during our operating season.
  • Able to perform physical work, including crawling, pushing, bending, stooping, and lifting boxes.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. abd walk with it to place in the correct space.
  • Able to walk up and down stairs and ladders.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions (rain, wind, cold, direct sunlight, high heat, humidity).
     

Compensation:

  • $16 per hour plus a retention-based bonus, provided bonus eligibility criteria are met.
